    Mānawatia a Matariki ⭐️
We had a wonderful morning celebrating our tamariki and their creative efforts at our Matariki-inspired art exhibition. Thank you to all our whānau who attended to support the centre and our tamariki. We were impressed by the exceptional display of artwork and the learning about Matariki evident in their masterpieces we have been busy creating over the last few weeks.

Today kaiako Todd supported our preschool tamariki perservering at weaving some Matariki kites with Harakeke (flax) that was gathered on this weeks adventure team.

We said thank you to Tane Māhuta as we wandered on our bush walk collecting bits of taonga for some art projects for our upcoming exhibition. We stopped to collect some harekeke for weaving. As a group we took a moment to say a karakia to give thanks to the plant and to ask that no harm comes to the plant or to the harvester. This was a learning moment for kaiako too and we will be trying to get some support from our whānau to make sure we are following the correct protocol when gathering.
