We have been focusing on exploring the natural environment. The children have been enjoying playing with our new little friends (the cats) that have been climbing the fence. We have been focusing on babies this week with many of the children showing an interest in this area. The children have loved Rose’s beautiful old pram, caring for the baby dolls, bathing them and dressing them. Rose even helped the children to cut out and sew some nappies using her sewing machine from home for the baby dolls! The children at Kidz Kindy have spent some lovely time outside this week while the sun was shining. Waterplay was one of the favourite activities; in the sandpit making rivers, watering the vegetable garden and running under the hose. The early stages of mathematics are often visible at our centre. Pattern making, sorting, problem solving, and trial and error are explored daily. We support the children during this time, so we can extend on their experiences by providing them

Welcome back for 2018. We are preparing for another exciting year at Kidz Kindy @75. We have Maxximus moving on to Kidz Kindy @49. We will miss him and we know he will enjoy making new friends and reconnecting with old friends. Our focus is on holidays and would love photo’s and stories about what you got up to over the holidays. We have an art box which sits on the table outside the front door. Happy New Year, nga mihi o te Tau Hou. We have had a lovely, relaxed start to 2018 with lots of water and sand pit play on our sunny days. The rain has kept us inside on Friday morning and the children have spent time making, creating and researching. This week our qualified teaching staff has been Cynny, Amy and Rose (Friday) with Meeri as our wonderful teacher support. Jacinta will rejoin us from leave in mid January.
