Last week our topic was belonging. Being part of routines. In the art area the children have been exploring different ways to paint. They used stamps, shells in containers with the paint and paper and paint inside of a plastic bag. We are very proud of the children's pictures and we are displaying them on the boards around the centre. Last week our topic was colours again. In the art area the children have been exploring with dyes again this time with Napkins. They watched the dye spread and blend with each other. They practiced their stamping skills with the patterned stampers. They practiced their hand eye co-ordination with string painting. Kia Ora Whanau Last week the children had noticed the winter sun streaming across our carpet in the mornings. This interest in winter light was our area of focus this week within our winter study. Our children practised cutting by making rainclouds, and using drippers to make PVA glue suncatchers. They also used paper plates to decorate as woolly winter beanies.
